It faced strong competition from the CBS crime drama Jake and the Fatman; viewers would frequently tune out of Seinfeld to watch the second half of Jake and the Fatman's. Seinfeld once jokingly stated that this was because the "Fatman" would run in the second half of the show.
In this Seinfeld episode, while shopping with Elaine, Jerry buys an expensive suede jacket. Elaine convinces George and Jerry to meet her father, who has a reputation of being difficult and intimidating. Jerry wears his new jacket when he and George meet Elaine's father. After learning that she is going to be late in coming, Jerry and George are left alone to have an uncomfortable conversation with her father. When Elaine arrives, they leave for the restaurant and see that it is snowing. Elaine and George suggest that Jerry turn his new jacket inside out so that it does not get ruined. Jerry, not wanting to look like an idiot in front of Elaine's father, ignores their advice. After they walk a short distance during the snowfall, Jerry's jacket gets ruined.

(if) you repent and turn away from sin and Trust in Christ; God will forgive every sin you have ever committed in Grant you eternal life! if you refuse to turn away from sins and Trust in Christ, then you must pay for your own sins against God yourself; which means you will spend an eternity in the Lake of Fire, in outer Darkness, where there's a weeping and gnashing of teeth forever!
